EVE Online : Factional Warfare Issues

Ricdic's actions while in the game world were actually not a violation of the rules. As most players know, the world of EVE Online is rife with such scandals. The problem was the fact he then exchanged the money for real world cash, a big no-no according to CCP Games. This has resulted in a permananet ban from EVE Online for Ricdic.

Although it's not recent news, the third term of the Council of Stellar Management, or CSM, is now well under way. The Council CSM is a group of EVE time card players that are elected, by the players, to talk directly with CCP and discuss any issues they have with the game, as well as having input on possible solutions.

Formed as part of the response to the T20 incident (where a CCP staff member was found to be providing items and other help to one of the big alliances) in an effort to create plaync time card a greater degree of transparency between CCP and the players, as well as providing another, more direct, channel of communication (as opposed to the sea of wailing and gnashing of teeth that is the official forums).

A few weeks ago, I wussed out of becoming a pirate again and instead decided to get involved with some Factional Warfare and re-enlist with the Caldari Militia. Factional Warfare arrived with the Empyrean Age expansion last June, and pitted EVE time code four main empires against each other in a two sided conflict to claim areas of low security space. My old corp dove straight in at launch but, after the initial chaos we, like so many others, got a bit bored and moved on. Anyway, I signed up Lineage2 cdkey again; ready to smash some Gallente skulls, and maybe do a bit of low sec exploration to keep the ISK rolling in. Then the Caldari won the war.

Ricdic went on to trade the virtual money for real world cash, using it to pay off medical bills and lineage2 cd key other expenses. All in all, Ricdic was able to net himself about $5,000 USD.According to the CBCNews article, Ricdic appears unrepentant of his actions, stating, "If I had to do it again, I probably would've chosen the same path."

Well, ok, you can't win the war- it's designed to be an ongoing territorial struggle -but they were the first militia to seize all of the systems owned by their racial enemies, the Gallente. They didn't win anything except for a medal, and bragging rights - the forums were almost instantly engulfed in the arguments that broke out aion time card over the supposed victory, with the most popular point of contention being that the Caldari only captured complexes and avoided straight fights, while the Gallente were far too manly to be bothered to go after complexes, blah blah blah. As usual, this wasn't anything more than the usual hysterical, "my gang is harder than your gang," nonsense that's been going on since the war started.
