My last article was about raiding in general, but this time around I am going to talk about my favorite spec in the game: the Shadow Priest; with an emphasis on raiding. I have played a Shadow Priest since Day One of my WoW career (there is actually a pretty funny story behind it, as I wanted to be a mage, but my friends tricked me into being a priest because they wanted a healer), have always played shadow - NEVER holy or disc - and have raided extensively with the spec. More experienced wow time card players, let me warn you now - this guide is going to be more for new players or raiders, as there are extensive resources out there for those who already know how their way around the spec. This first part will tell you about the strengths and weaknesses of the spec, the utility one brings to a raid as a Shadow Priest, and the talent and glyph choices you should be making.
Next, let¡¯s look at in-game tangible items. For everyone, this category is going to be different. These items can include PvP gear, Tiered gear, mounts, pets, trade skill items, etc. If you have more than one toon at level 80, this can even get further complicated as you try to meet your needs for each character. The best way I can describe this process is using my toons as an example.
The Rogue. He¡¯s been my longest played toon and has been with me since the beginning. As far as gear goes, he¡¯s ¡°ok¡±. What tangible items does he need though to go into Cataclysm? Or more truthfully, what items do I want him to have? The answer to this is simple: mounts. Currently he has 25 mounts, but I am after 50. Many of these will become available as I work on faction (next section of the article), but some is going to cost both faction and gold. Luckily I have the wow cdkey faction already. The main mounts I want for the Rogue though are: Traveler¡¯s Tundra Mammoth (for the vendors), the Red Rake from Wyrmcrest and the Chopper. In the end, since I already have the faction, I just need the gold: a lot of it. I also would like for him to have the Sea Turtle for the prestige factor.
You missed the part where I said health pools will be higher. Imagine a boss that takes say 3-4 hits to kill a tank, but it also takes a healer 3-4 heals to top her back off. Now efficiency of a healing spell can be as much of a consideration as direct throughput, since the tank is unlikely to die in your next GCD. Now coordination among healers can be a bigger deal since efficiency will matter. Now maximum wlk cdkey health on the tank classes will matter less because the question of how long you can survive without a heal landing is largely academic. Now avoidance on a tank can matter a little more because saving healer mana becomes as important as being table to take the next hit.
Fat chance that the Red Proto-Drake will be gone any time soon since it's only a 280% flight speed mount. Still, anyone after the Red or Blue Dragonhawk mount (when Blizzard gets off their backsides and increases its speed to 310% instead of a measly 280%) from Aion cdkey Mountain O' Mounts should count the Red Proto-Drake among the 100 that they'll need. Or you can just look a lot cooler riding on a big red proto-drake instead of a puny red or blue bird that looks like it would snap in half if a Tauren sat on it.
The achievements from the heroic five-man dungeons aren't as difficult as they used to be pre-Ulduar, but a lot of them are still a pain in the backside. They're all listed here aion time card per dungeon, all rated for their difficulty with the appropriate tactics and under the assumption that the groups trying for this are decked out in Naxx 25, Ulduar 10/25, or ToC 10/25 gear.
